Last night, we braved the traffic and tens of thousands of people and headed to downtown Kobe right near Lilly Japan. They have a festival each year since the earthquake of 1995. The huge earthquake occured in January that year and ever since then, they have set up this amazing light display to bring hope, happiness, and to cheer the spirit since then. It is in the area of less than a city block but there is a tunnel of lights that goes from Motomachi Station to the sight. While it would have been beautiful to walk through that area, Bryce described it well as being at a Super Bowl game but instead of everyone being in the bleachers...everyone would be on the field. No room to breathe or move. It is quite amazing to see and with the crowds that we encountered, it seemed that everyone and their dog (quite literally) were there to see it. We are glad we went and what a sight to see! When we asked the kids what they thought....Tanner's response was best, "Wow, Mom, do it again!"

In the HOUSE? Oh man, that is cold! I hope your winter doesn't last long. (Why don't they insulate their houses?)
