Last Day of School

The last day of school was great. Celebrations for so many reasons! The kids only had a half day on the last day of school. The first event was an awards ceremony. There were three awards given to students in each grade level. First, is the General Excellence award. Second, is the Most Improved. Third is the Champagnat award. This is the award named on behalf of Saint Champagnat (founder of Marist Brothers) and given to a child that demonstrates care and concern towards other children, one who is helpful to others and it is a general "service to others" award. Isaac was awarded this award for the third grade this year. He is a good kid and makes good decisions (for the most part!) and we are proud of him! After that it was off to the class parties for good food and farewells. Both of our kiddos enjoyed their classes and teachers this year and we are looking forward to another great year at Marist next year. We will have all 3 kids there next year, Bryce is on the school board, and I am the new PTA president for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 school years. Perhaps we should just give up our house and move in to the school? :0) Seriously, we are all thrilled to be a part of the Marist family and grateful to be involved with such great teachers, students and parents!
